I have recently relocated the Opulent Fibers studio to a small commercial building in Gladstone, OR. The studio has two floors with ample workspace for wet and dry work, a covered outdoor workspace for overflow, and small yard for sipping tea in the sun. This was quite a moment! Receiving the Excellence in Fiber Art award last week at the PMAC show with Gwen and Elisabeth... the award sponsor and juror. Elisabeth Agro is the associate curator of American Modern and Contemporary Crafts and Decorative Arts at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.... Needless to say, I am very proud!!
Work in progress featured in American Craft magazine!!! In September 2016 I won the hashtag challenge #yourrightbrainiscalling and here is my reward. It is a huge honor and there is a long story (seven years or so) about how determined I've been to make this happen. The joining of my felting and woodwork couldn't be more perfect.
